José Castro is the ¡Sembrando Salud! Program Manager. Born in Mexico City and raised in New Mexico, José graduated from Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque and holds degrees in Integrated Studies, Tourism, and Hospitality. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Marketing.
José actively recruits participants for the ¡Sembrando Salud! program and collaborates closely with diverse organizations and community leaders to encourage participation in the program and address nutrition access barriers. José's efforts aim to create a more interactive and engaged network, empowering communities to tackle food insecurity collectively.
In his support of the CODECE program, Jose serves as the linchpin for logistical and administrative coordination, acting as the primary point of contact for farmers and collaborating organizations. He ensures seamless support for farmers by providing translations, essential supplies, and guidance through critical business processes, tailoring his assistance to meet their specific needs.
José is also a certified trainer for Tier I & Tier II Food Safety Training and Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training.
