Bryce Townsend
Bryce Townsend is a member of the CODECE farming program technical staff. He is the owner of Black Mesa Farm LLC, located in San Felipe Pueblo. He is from the Pueblos of San Felipe and Ohkay Owingeh. As a 4th generation farmer, Farmer Bryce’s objective is to provide the highest quality, fresh produce to his community, while optimizing the Pueblo’s agricultural land base and acknowledging the Pueblo’s water rights through practical utilization. He also prioritizes support and guidance to the local farming community in aspects of land preparation, crop planning, organic methods and food safety practices. His connection to serving indigenous communities also comes through his experience as a Computer-Aided Drafting Instructor and as an Athletics Coach at the Santa Fe Indian School. Mr. Townsend holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico and is a candidate of the Master’s Program for Community and Regional Planning at UNM. He is in his 4th year of serving on the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Farmers’ Marketing Association and is certified under the NM Grown Approved Supplier Program.
